Agents yarded an increased number of 3,536 lambs and 801 sheep, to total 4,337 head overall. An increased number of trade and processor buyers were present and active as a larger offering of new season lambs came forward to receive extremely strong competition in another dearer market. Trade weight and heavy new season lambs mainly ranged from 900c to 950c/kg cwt, with lighter types receiving more in places, with some pushing past the 1,000c/kg cwt mark. The remainder of the market was also strong with a wide range of old lambs coming forward. Sheep were also in demand, seeing a dearer trend as well.
Light new season lambs ranged from $122 to $178, as trade weight types ranged from $165 to $224 and the heavy weight selection ranged from $220 to $256/head. Light old lambs ranged from $39 to $124, with the light trade offering ranging from $132 to $152/head. Trade weight old lambs ranged from $148 to $200, as the heavy and extra heavy types ranged from $186 to $248/head.
Light hoggets ranged from $55 to $90, while the heavy selection ranged from $106 to a high of $170/head. Light weight ewes ranged from $52 to $79, while the medium weights sold from $88 to $111 and the heavy ewes returned vendors from $108 to a high of $164/head. Rams ranged from $32 to $90/head.Back
